Fall comes in like a Maltese
Happy September! I have a book due next month, so this will be short and to the point. But I do have a new idle game that is making my days full of amusement and joy: Maltese's Fluffy Onsen. Like my other favorite, Rusty's Retirement, the game sits at the bottom of your screen and you just set up a nice spa for these animals. There's not much to do, so it's not too much of a distraction, it's just freaking adorable.

Now for the housekeeping: are you interested in the exclusive content that I offer Patreon supporters, namely early, exclusive, and ad-free episodes? I would be delighted to do it, if there was demand. But until someone gets a subscription, I'm making exclusive posts for literally no one. And if you didn't know this was available to you, then the option to support is right under the poll!
Where Was Mur? Where Will Mur Be?

I was on Scott Eldeman's podcast Eating the Fantastic where he takes authors out to dinner and interviews them, and who can say no to that? We went out for ramen and talked about all sorts of things. Scott's a lot of fun and I covet his podcasting equipment terribly.
I will be at ArmadilloCon this week! I'm excited since I've never been to Austin, but sadly will be head down writing for much of my down time. Still hope to see folks!

I will be head-down writing for the next month, but I still should have content coming out because of scheduling and stuff. I'm trying, anyway.
Recent podcast: ISBW S21 Ep15: The Sweet Spot of Horror and Desire with Sarah Gailey
Note, this has an Explicit tag! In this episode, we welcome Hugo winning author Sarah Gailey, author of Spread Me, as we explore the wild world of erotic horror. Sarah shares their journey of writing a novel that takes inspiration from John Carpenter’s classic film, The Thing, blending horror and erotica and humor.
Recent book: Infinite Archive, a "goddamn delight" according to one reader, is out now, and if anyone was waiting for the series to be complete before they buy, now's the time! Makes a great gift!

What I'm listening to: Mystery Maniacs! I am a huge fan of Midsomer Murders (I know you're shocked.) I found this podcast that started in 2019 as Midsomer Maniacs. It's hosted by a couple who go over the little known facts, or info about the actors, and don't hesitate to point out when the show is ridiculous. They have a great chemistry and it's a lot of fun to listen to. (The name has changed now because they caught up with Midsomer Murders and so started covering Brokenwood, Murdoch Mysteries, and Poirot, so now they're Mystery Maniacs.)

I want to add that I took their chemistry for granted, because I found another Midsomer fan cast where they are woodenly reading from a script and it's painful to listen to. So the content is good, but the hosts are very good as well.
Have a good week, let me know what you think about exclusive podcasts (because I have a ridiculous idea about another project and I don't know if it's a good idea, or the work of the Magpie...
